BBBBBBB

Furious breakcore beats and mindless barking to make your head hurt! Seven B’s spelling out the name of a Japanese victory hardcore duo.
Japanese duo BBBBBBB combine aggressive 808 breakcore, ’90s rave and hardcore punk into what they call victory hardcore, inspired by their positive messages. Don’t let the name fool you, though: what awaits is hyperactive sonic devastation and a proper stress test for Channel Zero’s sound system.
Their upcoming album Poop Disco, presented on this European tour, will be released by cult label Deathbomb Arc, known for early releases by artists including clipping. and JPEGMAFIA. The duo’s main producer Saionji recently also contributed several tracks to the debut album by Lord Spikeheart, vocalist of Kenyan outfit Duma.
A full-throttle, absolutely unhinged evening.
“Thumps, thrash, cartoon clown horns, snippets of Seinfeld bass, demented cackling, and a banjo/lawnmower/eldritch screaming are all in the mix.” – Emily Bick, The Wire
“BBBBBBB find a balance between noise and nonsense.” – Patrick St. Michel, The Quietus
Like their Japanese counterparts, local digicore champions mala roza muca & pixel.bambi take a playful approach to music, drawing on internet underground culture and contemporary deconstructions of rave. Distorted samples of popular culture, glitches and distortion pile reference upon reference, creating a sonic reflection of information overload — fragmented into a feverish digital dream.
They have performed at festivals including MENT, Niansa and Grounded, and were also selected for the international SHAPE+ platform.
“Their manic, synthetically metallic electronic sound and primitive children’s songs, while a hanging mobile reflects horrific images, still confuses pre-internet minds.” – Žiga Pucelj, Odzven
SsmKOSK, a Yugoslav-Swabian glitchcore/breakcore experimentalist from Ljubljana’s Bežigrad district, has released five solo albums over the past decade and played more than 50 shows in dark clubs and damp basements stretching from the shores of the Black Sea to the eastern edge of Denmark’s Zealand.
In 2023, he released his latest album 610a: notranji petki, where flamenco is taken apart and rebuilt through the language of glitchcore — surprisingly resulting in his most accessible material to date.
“Imagine Paco de Lucía’s melodies being mangled with some kind of sonic shredder, chopped up and turned into an unrestrained and chaotic, yet thrilling sound collage of ‘glitched-out’ flamenco abstractions.” – Jaša Bužinel, Mladina
