After last year’s Gala Banquet drew a massive crowd to Gala Hala and left behind a trail of stories that kept circulating around the city for weeks, Zlati gol returns this year even bolder, brighter, and more unpredictable. On the first Saturday of August, we once again take over Gala Hala, transforming it into a palace of excess, celebration, and dance for one unforgettable night.

The evening begins at 8 PM in the Summer Garden with a carefully curated selection by the Banketmantel Selectors, accompanied by generous snacks, full glasses, and the laid-back atmosphere of a warm summer evening under the open sky. The festivities will also be broadcast live on Radio Študent, carrying the spirit of the night far beyond the borders of Metelkova. When midnight strikes, we move inside Gala Hala—and happily lose all contact with reality.

The Zlati gol crew—comfortably the country’s worst radio show—invites friends, familiar faces, loyal party companions, and curious newcomers alike to celebrate another season of golden moments together. Every year, the Gala Banquet brings together an eclectic mix of dancers, spectators, comedians, influencers, and incurable late-night conversationalists, remaining the kind of place where small people come up with big ideas.

Long ago, the Zlati Gol Gala Banquet outgrew the idea of being just another party—it became a tradition. Every year, it’s not only the BPM that rise, but also the ambition to create a night people keep talking about long after the lights come on. Those who show up become part of the story. Those who don’t will almost certainly hear about it.

In case of rain, the Gala Banquet will move indoors without hesitation, transforming into an explosive club night starting at 10 PM.

Kino Šiška pulled off one of the bookings of the year. We’ll be doing what any devoted fans would do—throwing the afterparty.

Why? Because we’re massive Primus fans.

Why else? Because it’s summer.

And why else? Because we want to dance.

Expect a night packed with the finest alternative anthems, oddball classics, and glorious ’90s madness inspired by one of the most original bands to ever walk this earth.

Karabruke returns with its summer edition—and the Summer Garden is open!

Or, as many simply know it: the busiest karaoke night in Ljubljana.

This August edition is dedicated to the songs that instantly transport you back to graduation trips, carefree summer holidays, and unforgettable nights with friends. Let the soundtrack of summer echo across Metelkova as we celebrate the hottest hits of the season.

Doors open at 10 PM, with sign-ups for the first performers starting immediately. The karaoke kicks off at 11 PM, and from then on we’ll be singing well into the night.

This time, the Gala Hala crew is giving away two tickets to any Gala Hala concert—even a sold-out one—for the night’s most outstanding vocal performance, plus one consolation ticket for the best performance, the greatest act of courage, or the most spectacular karaoke disaster.

Everyone is welcome, but especially those whose greatest concerts usually happen in the shower. We’ll be judging not only your voice, but also your stage presence, charisma, and overall performance.

Sound engineer Klemen, host Angel Pornstar, and the entire Gala Hala crew can’t wait to see you on stage.

SONIC DUNES: TRAVO (Portugal)

Portuguese quartet TRAVO are one of those bands that are far easier to experience than to describe.

At their core lies heavy psychedelic rock, but they effortlessly veer into garage-rock chaos, progressive detours, and, at times, almost crushing metal territory. If comparisons are necessary, think of a darker, heavier King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard—less concerned with technical virtuosity and far more devoted to hypnotic grooves and relentless momentum.

Ever since the release of Sinking Creation, TRAVO have become one of the standout names on Portugal’s underground rock scene. Their latest album, Astromorph God, expands their sonic universe even further. It’s no coincidence that they were picked up by Spinda Records, or that they’ve appeared at festivals such as Les Trans Musicales and sessions like KEXP—clear signs of a band whose reputation is steadily growing beyond their home country.

But above all else, TRAVO are a live band.

Long-form compositions, repetitive riffs, towering dynamics, and the kind of immersive intensity that makes you lose all sense of time—exactly the reason the Sonic Dunes concert series exists.

After the show, Andy Blackhole takes over the decks, serving up a slightly more psychedelic selection to keep the trip going—wherever the mood decides to take it.

FINE MUSIC FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN – THE OTHER SIDE

The second edition of this year’s Fine Music from the Mediterranean turns its gaze toward the eastern and southern shores of the Mediterranean.

This time, we’re leaving behind the Italian, French, and ex-Yugoslav canzone, schlager, boogie, and disco of the first edition in favour of the pop, folk, and dance music of Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and beyond. There might even be a touch of Yemeni psychedelic rock from the Levant thrown into the mix.

In other words, we’ll be dancing to the sounds of our overseas south-eastern neighbours.

Expect an evening of rai, dabke, chaabi, gnawa, Arabic funk, soul, disco, and pop gems, with the occasional familiar European tune woven into the selection for good measure.

Join us as we swap the rather stale slogan mare nostrum (“our sea”) for the far more welcoming mare omnibus (“everyone’s sea”).

And who knows—if we’re lucky, the food might take on a more eastern Mediterranean flavour too. Stay tuned.
