SLOMOSA (NOR) @ Gala hala

Event: 01. 10. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

SLOMOSA (NOR)
KRYPTOGRAF (Nor)
GODSLEEP (Gr)

A night of massive riffs, raw energy and contemporary stoner rock is on the way, with a sound that has seen them establish themselves in a remarkably short time as one of the most exciting names on the European scene. With their distinctive blend of weight, melody and unstoppable groove, they promise a full-impact live experience. We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of Norway’s Slomosa, who will be taking over the Gala Hala stage this year.

SLOMOSA (NOR)

Hailing from the rugged landscapes of western Norway, Slomosa have quickly established themselves as one of the key forces in contemporary rock with their distinctive Tundra Rock sound. The band consists of Benjamin Berdous (guitar, vocals), Marie Moe (bass, vocals), Tor Erik Bye (guitar) and Jard Hole (drums). Drawing from a wide range of influences, their sound combines the heavy, groove-driven riffs of stoner rock with raw, melodic vocals and thunderous guitars.

Since the release of their self-titled debut in 2020, Slomosa have become synonymous with raw power and electrifying live performances. They’ve conquered major festival stages including Hellfest, Freak Valley and Bergenfest. In July 2023, they released the single Cabin Fever, a hard-hitting introduction to their highly anticipated second album, showcasing their knack for raw storytelling and mighty riffs.

In 2024, Slomosa took their massive sound across the pond, joining Alkaline Trio on their US tour and further cementing their reputation as a global force. In 2025, they returned as direct support for Helmet, continuing their unstoppable march across international stages. This year, they sold out almost every venue on their North American tour.

Both on record and live, Slomosa deliver an intense, uncompromising sonic experience that lingers long after the final chord. With bigger ambitions and a louder sound than ever before, the band are carving out their place as torchbearers of contemporary heavy rock.

KRYPTOGRAF (NOR) – Proto-doom, Psychedelic Rock

Hailing from Bergen, Norway, Kryptograf create a heavy and atmospheric blend of proto-doom, psychedelic rock and ’70s hard rock. Their sound is defined by massive riffs, dark melodies and layered harmonies, drawing on the legacy of bands such as Black Sabbath and Pentagram while reshaping it into a distinctive sound of their own. With three albums under their belt, including their latest, Kryptonomicon (2025), Kryptograf have established themselves as one of the more intriguing acts on Norway’s heavy rock scene.

GODSLEEP (GR) – Stoner rock, punk

Athens four-piece Godsleep are returning to the region with an explosive dose of stoner rock and fuzz-drenched psychedelia that pushes the boundaries of the genre. Since their beginnings, they’ve been delivering massive riffs and hypnotic atmospheres charged with raw energy, further amplified by the charismatic vocals of Amie Makris.

Their albums—from the acclaimed Thousand Sons of Sleep (2015), through Coming of Age (2018), to their latest, Lies to Survive (2023)—showcase a band unwilling to compromise and constantly exploring new sonic horizons, bringing together the weight of stoner rock and the raw energy of punk.

Music policy: heavy rock / stoner rock / proto-doom / psychedelic rock / punk

Admission: presale €25, €28 on the day of the concert

1000MODS (GR) & GRIM RHYTHM (AU)

Event: 06. 10. 2026 19:00 Add to calendar

1000mods (GR): Give Me My Medicine Tour 26
+ GRIM RHYTHM (AU)

Opaaaa! Your and our old stoner rock friends 1000mods are coming back to Gala Hala!

Besides being a fantastic band, these guys are simply ridiculously hard-working. Since their last visit to Ljubljana, they’ve played 100+ shows, and, more importantly, released a new album in November 2024: Cheat Death, their fifth to date, which they’ll be bringing to us as well. Co-producing the record was Matt Bayles, who has worked with bands such as Mastodon, Foxing, Isis, Botch and others. If you haven’t listened to it yet, now’s the time. To put it mildly, it was received with enthusiasm.

There’s no doubt they’re still true to their trademark stoner rock sound, cruising through the desert and surrendering to psychedelia—but, as they put it themselves, this is their “heaviest and most intense album to date.” Heavier and faster rhythms are in the mix, along with some serious metal and punk influences.

And then there’s the album title, Cheat Death, and lyrics suggesting that even in the midst of all this chaos and adversity, it’s possible to find your purpose—and maybe even a reason to smile. In short, the guys have figured out the recipe for cheating death. The instructions are on the record; the secret ingredients, however, can only be obtained live at the show.

As support, Australian Grim Rhythm will be taking the stage. They’re coming to us as an instrumental trio, just as they were when they started out, despite briefly operating as a four-piece with vocals along the way. After nine years, they’ve released a new album, Forever Eating Shit, so relentless that it can be compared to lightning striking a tree and stretching all the way up into the sky.

Highly recommended for anyone who likes to wake up to heavy, dirty riffs instead of coffee, along with chaos (surprisingly somehow under control), drum interludes and, above all, instruments going absolutely berserk.

Music policy: stoner / rock / psychedelic / metal / punk

Admission: €20 presale, €23 on the day of the concert

COSMIC KITTEN (San Pedro / Los Angeles, USA)

Event: 08. 10. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

COSMIC KITTEN (San Pedro / Los Angeles, USA)

Coming to us from San Pedro, the port district of Los Angeles, Cosmic Kitten are a four-piece who apparently slept through the meeting where someone announced that the ’90s were over—which, of course, we mean in the best possible way.

Cosmic Kitten dig around in the dirtier drawer of alternative rock, where grunge, punk, noise and heavy guitars are piled up alongside the occasional shredded melody and just the right amount of rage. If you miss the days when alternative rock didn’t mean neatly groomed bands salivating over the prospect of playing huge festival stages, but rather feedback, fuzz, sweaty foreheads and songs that can explode from a quiet grumble into a full-blown guitar onslaught in an instant, then this is pretty much it.

At the forefront is Karen Marie, who can switch from an almost gentle, introspective vocal to a full-on scream within the same song. Around her, Zach Huckabee on drums, Jay Vesper on bass and John Chavez on second guitar make sure this doesn’t remain a mere nostalgic revival of grunge.

Cosmic Kitten have enough punk directness and contemporary noise-rock punch to sound far more now than Seattle 1992 cosplay.

Their references are no joke, either. They’ve shared stages with Redd Kross, The Dickies, Alice Bag, Avengers and Mike Watt. Their album Laugh of a Lifetime was, among others, recorded by Steve Moriarty of The Gits and mastered by Jack Endino, the man behind Nirvana’s Bleach. On their current album—their fifth, and their first for San Francisco label Psyched! Records—they’ve taken things a step further: it was produced by Alex Edkins of METZ, recorded by Ben Greenberg of Uniform, and mixed by Graham Walsh. In short, a pretty damn solid little family gathering of the noisy guitar underground.

The new album is appropriately raw and pretty much filter-free: frustration, emptiness, anger, revenge, bad decisions and picking yourself back up off the floor. But there’s no whining in the corner. With Cosmic Kitten, anger is above all a source of fuel.

Five albums and countless miles through clubs across the US and UK later, they’re finally stopping by our neck of the woods for the first time.

Music policy: alternative / post-grunge / punk / noise rock

Admission: €12 presale (mojekarte.si and their points of sale), €15 on the day of the concert

Rapetek ekstra: GRANDMASTER FLASH (USA) @ Gala hala

Event: 09. 10. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

**RAPETEK EXTRA: GRANDMASTER FLASH (USA)

+ DJ ZEDS, DJ NINJA

Grandmaster Flash needs no introduction. His early steps as a DJ are practically a timeline of hip-hop history in themselves: rocking formative block parties in the Bronx in the late ’70s; becoming one of the first figures to break through internationally—not just as an individual, but as part of the wider hip-hop culture—when his lightning-fast turntable skills were name-checked on Blondie’s “Rapture”; and then, in 1981, releasing the pioneering live-recorded collage of breaks and grooves “The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel” (Sugar Hill), a seven-minute masterclass in the “Quick Mix Theory.”

Flash invented the technique, which went on to become the foundation of hip-hop DJing and much of what followed. He demonstrated the same approach on film the following year in Wild Style—and, famously, did so right there in his own kitchen—in a now-iconic scene that would go on to circulate around the world.

Then, of course, there was the seminal early hip-hop collective Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, with their first street hits “Superrappin’” and “Freedom.” In 1982, the entire game changed with the release of “The Message,” the first truly massive hip-hop hit to tackle social issues. But there was a catch: despite the name, Flash had nothing to do with the recording itself. In fact, of the entire Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five lineup, only Melle Mel was involved in its creation.

The group eventually split, briefly reunited, and split again, while Flash continued independently—DJing, producing, lecturing, promoting, writing and doing pretty much everything else you can imagine.

He now comes to Ljubljana with his latest project, “The Four Elements,” a live tribute to each of the fundamental elements of hip-hop, bringing them together on stage in a celebration of the culture he helped build from the ground up.

Pioneer. Innovator. Icon.
