INTIMATE: SARA RENAR

Summer is a time for music that doesn’t need to be loud.

The first July evening of this year’s Intimno series belongs to Sara Renar, one of the most distinctive and compelling voices of the contemporary regional music scene. The Zagreb-based musician, poet, performer, and multimedia artist has spent over a decade building a unique sonic world at the intersection of intimate songwriting, electronics, poetry, and bold sonic experimentation.

With her new album Nježne riječi (Gentle Words), Sara Renar opens a space for stories about language, belonging, tenderness, and resistance. Described as an exploration of gentleness as a form of defiance, the album moves between Croatian and English, between the personal and the political, between fragility and strength.

At a time when art is often expected to be fast, easily defined, and instantly appealing, Nježne riječi insists on slowness, complexity, and sensitivity.

Over the past years, Sara Renar has released seven albums, received numerous nominations and Porin awards, and performed more than five hundred concerts across Europe and the region. Yet regardless of the size of the stage, her music finds its strongest expression in intimate settings—where her rare ability to create closeness between performer and audience can truly unfold.

Intimno is a series of acoustic and singer-songwriter concerts in the Summer Garden, where for a few hours we step away from the noise of the world, sit close to the stage, and listen a little more carefully.

V petek, 24. 7. 2026, se bo ponovno zgodila poletna Basolovka. Noč se bo začela na Letnem vrtu brez žanrskih omejitev, nato pa se bodo vsi zvoki slej kot prej prelevili v Drum and Bass, jasno!

Noč nadaljujemo v klubu vsaj do štirih, če se nas pa veliko zbere pa celo do petih.

Z nami bo seveda rezident LionShine in po dolgem času se nam končno spet za DJ mikserjem pridružuje Raketa, čeprav je bila z nami velikokrat prisotna kot tonska mojstrica, na drugi strani kluba.

Prvič uradno na Basolovki pa bo z nami Maya, s katero smo sicer veliko prerorali na drugih dogodkih in jo lahko še velikokrat pričakujete na  Basolovki, saj ima uho za DnB.

 Vendar to še ni vse!!

Pričakujte tudi posebno dvojno presenečenje, Leu na trobenti in pa Kao Maniqua s svojim hudim komadom, ki je od našega zadnjega dogodka na Letnem vrtu že postal pravi hitič.

P.s.: Kao Maniqua bo reprezental Matic s svojim originalnim stilom na majku.

The night begins at 8 PM in the Summer Garden of Gala Hala. The opening programme is curated by the Frekvenca collective, represented by Zidane and Mashi. Expect a warm-up focused on house and UKG selections, setting the tone for the early part of the evening and the transition into the night programme.

At 11 PM, the event moves indoors, where RotorMotor take over. The club programme shifts into a more direct and driving rhythm, blending trance, techno, hard house, and UKG influences, shaped by RotorMotor’s distinctive approach to pacing and dancefloor dynamics.

Los Angeles duo Patriarchy are one of the most exciting names to emerge from today’s darkwave, industrial pop, and shadowy club music scene. The project is led by AJ English and the magnetic Actually Huizenga, whose background spans seemingly incompatible worlds—from contemporary art institutions such as Night Gallery to the infamous Hollywood strip club Cheetahs. That contrast perfectly captures Patriarchy’s aesthetic: a collision of art, sexuality, underground culture, and pop.

Their music fearlessly blends industrial, synth-pop, darkwave, electroclash, metal riffs, and hypnotic dance rhythms, while their live shows exist somewhere between a concert, a performance piece, and a ritual. Patriarchy is more than a band—it’s a fully immersive artistic experience exploring power, sexuality, identity, relationships, and mortality.

Following the acclaimed albums Asking For It and The Unself, Patriarchy released Manual For Dying in 2025, their most refined—and at the same time most direct—record to date. Produced in collaboration with Twin Shadow, the album pushes the duo’s industrial roots even deeper onto the dancefloor while preserving the theatricality and provocation that have made them one of the most distinctive acts in the new wave of alternative electronic music.

Their formidable live reputation has taken them from the cult Roadburn festival to Cruel World, Wide Awake, and Brutal Assault, where they have repeatedly proven equally at home in underground art spaces, intimate clubs, and major festival stages.
