Los Angeles duo Patriarchy are one of the most exciting names to emerge from today’s darkwave, industrial pop, and shadowy club music scene. The project is led by AJ English and the magnetic Actually Huizenga, whose background spans seemingly incompatible worlds—from contemporary art institutions such as Night Gallery to the infamous Hollywood strip club Cheetahs. That contrast perfectly captures Patriarchy’s aesthetic: a collision of art, sexuality, underground culture, and pop.

Their music fearlessly blends industrial, synth-pop, darkwave, electroclash, metal riffs, and hypnotic dance rhythms, while their live shows exist somewhere between a concert, a performance piece, and a ritual. Patriarchy is more than a band—it’s a fully immersive artistic experience exploring power, sexuality, identity, relationships, and mortality.

Following the acclaimed albums Asking For It and The Unself, Patriarchy released Manual For Dying in 2025, their most refined—and at the same time most direct—record to date. Produced in collaboration with Twin Shadow, the album pushes the duo’s industrial roots even deeper onto the dancefloor while preserving the theatricality and provocation that have made them one of the most distinctive acts in the new wave of alternative electronic music.

Their formidable live reputation has taken them from the cult Roadburn festival to Cruel World, Wide Awake, and Brutal Assault, where they have repeatedly proven equally at home in underground art spaces, intimate clubs, and major festival stages.

Patriarchy dissolves the boundary between performer and audience. Prepare yourself for an evening of seductive chaos, dark ecstasy, and beautiful obsession. At a Patriarchy show, the club becomes a place where desire meets fear, seduction meets domination, and dancing meets destruction.

INTIMATE: HANA FATUR (SI)

The second July evening of the Intimno series belongs to Hana Fatur, one of the most exciting emerging singer-songwriters, currently building her musical journey between Ljubljana and Rotterdam.

Her songs inhabit sleepless nights, quiet thoughts, and the feelings we usually keep to ourselves. With a delicate voice and an instinctive sense for atmosphere, Hana creates melancholic indie pop landscapes where loneliness, longing, and the beauty of life’s smallest moments quietly intertwine. Critics have drawn comparisons to Phoebe Bridgers, while audiences are most captivated by her ability to build an entire world from just a handful of carefully chosen elements.

Following her victory at Grote Prijs van Rotterdam, receiving the De Belofte award at the Rotterdam Music Awards, appearances at MENT Ljubljana, and tours across Europe and the UK, Hana was also nominated this year for the Zlata piščal award in the Newcomer of the Year category. She is currently completing her debut album, following the release of the singles Satellite, Follow South and Somnus.

Hana Fatur doesn’t need volume to command a room. A few notes, a few honest words, and the audience falls completely silent. Dutch music press has described her performances as moments in which the venue transforms into a shared dreamscape, where listeners briefly forget everything beyond its walls.

Intimno is a series of acoustic and singer-songwriter concerts in the Summer Garden, where for a few hours we step away from the noise of the world, sit close to the stage, and simply listen a little more carefully.

The closing event of this year’s July Summer Garden belongs to Summer History Lesson, a chronological journey through the evolution of hip hop—from its pioneering beginnings in the 1980s all the way to today’s global trap era.

Expect a carefully curated timeline of the culture, decade by decade, delivered by five DJs—each representing a different chapter in hip hop history.

You’ll also hear tracks from some of this year’s Gala Hala guests, including Grandmaster Flash, who joins us on October 9, Xzibit, whose show at Kino Šiška had us bouncing back in May, and Immortal Technique, finally making his long-awaited Gala Hala debut on October 17.

Whether you’re here to dance, dig deep into hip hop history, discover forgotten classics, or simply enjoy the soundtrack with friends, Summer History Lesson has you covered.

After last year’s Gala Banquet drew a massive crowd to Gala Hala and left behind a trail of stories that kept circulating around the city for weeks, Zlati gol returns this year even bolder, brighter, and more unpredictable. On the first Saturday of August, we once again take over Gala Hala, transforming it into a palace of excess, celebration, and dance for one unforgettable night.

The evening begins at 8 PM in the Summer Garden with a carefully curated selection by the Banketmantel Selectors, accompanied by generous snacks, full glasses, and the laid-back atmosphere of a warm summer evening under the open sky. The festivities will also be broadcast live on Radio Študent, carrying the spirit of the night far beyond the borders of Metelkova. When midnight strikes, we move inside Gala Hala—and happily lose all contact with reality.

The Zlati gol crew—comfortably the country’s worst radio show—invites friends, familiar faces, loyal party companions, and curious newcomers alike to celebrate another season of golden moments together. Every year, the Gala Banquet brings together an eclectic mix of dancers, spectators, comedians, influencers, and incurable late-night conversationalists, remaining the kind of place where small people come up with big ideas.

Long ago, the Zlati Gol Gala Banquet outgrew the idea of being just another party—it became a tradition. Every year, it’s not only the BPM that rise, but also the ambition to create a night people keep talking about long after the lights come on. Those who show up become part of the story. Those who don’t will almost certainly hear about it.
