ASTĒRIE
Astērie is a Ljubljana-based collective formed in 2025. Through a pluralistic compositional process, they create unique, thematically interconnected episodic concerts, exploring interdisciplinary ritual practices historically associated with music, as well as visual symbolic representations and the spaces in which music exists. Through contemporary storytelling at the intersection of art music and club culture, the collective weaves its own mythology, shaped by the diverse perspectives of its composers and performers.
The ensemble consists of:
Laetitia Kiki Pohl – mezzo-soprano
Sofija Zavratnik Kain – mezzo-soprano
Zina Ban – contralto
Robbie Hopper – clarinet
Lina Steiner – violin
Špela Kokošinek – violin
Eva Pečnik – cello
Ela Božič – bass
Maj Brinovec – saxophone
Jan Kopač – guitar / theremin
Klemen Kocijančič – synth
Maj Zalaznik Novak – synth / electric piano
Aljoša Marko – percussion
Martin Kramberger – drums
At this concert, you’ll hear the premiere of their seventh episode, Revelatio, which draws on the act of revelation beyond the Abrahamic canon. The word revelation derives from the Ancient Greek Ἀποκάλυψις (apokálypsis), meaning the unveiling or uncovering of something hidden. Through a mosaic of compositions, stories and images, the ensemble questions how we can think about and experience the singular, the sacred and the mysterious in the meaning-saturated 21st century.
