33rd Anniversary of AKC Metelkova mesto

KLEMEN KLEMEN (SI)

+ DJ Esco

To celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Metelkova mesto, Gala Hala welcomes back the Trnovo rascal, ninja shapeshifter, storyteller of street adventures and imaginary horror tales, and master of the microphone— Klemen Klemen!

A firmly established name on the local scene, Klemen Klemen arrives armed with three albums: the best-selling Slovenian rap record of all time, Trnow stajl (2000), its follow-up Hipnoza (2003), and his latest release S3P (2015). Alongside his solo work, he has built an impressive catalogue of collaborations with artists from both the underground and the wider mainstream Slovenian music scene.

As has become tradition in recent years, he returns with the support of a live band, his unmistakable gravelly voice, and an endless supply of Trnovo stories, street legends, and lyrical twists.

Ulette ninje, džija!

Music policy: Trnow Stajl Hip Hop

Admission: €20 presale / €25 on the day of the concert

In case of rain, the event will take place inside the venue.

BENEFIT – SNOJKE (SI), MORVERN (SI), MRK (SI)

Event: 11. 09. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

33rd Anniversary AKC Metelkova mesto: BENEFIT

SNOJKE (SI)
MORVERN (SI)
MRK (SI)

+ after: MSN GF, DJ EVIII

Traditionally, Anniversary Friday invites you to Metelkova for a packed programme and a single admission ticket, with all proceeds going towards infrastructure, security and general self-sufficiency—as much as that is still possible these days.

The evening at Gala Hala’s summer garden will kick off with three acts coming from three very different directions: Snojke, a relatively new, dreamy project by musician Matija Snoj, well worth checking out if you haven’t already; Trbovlje-based rockers morvern, who are far from newcomers to the scene and have, over the years, transformed their sound from bedroom pop into full-blown garage rock; and Mrk, an intriguing ensemble led by Slovenian drummer and composer Gaj Bostič, bringing together established musicians from Vienna, Ljubljana and Basel in a project that grew out of the Mladi raziskovalci (.abeceda) programme.

At midnight, the electronic part of the night kicks off inside. Taking turns behind the decks will be DJ Eviii, a newcomer who isn’t afraid to admit she watched way too much Skins and that Maribor DnB still occasionally breathes down her neck; and msn gf, a Ljubljana-based DJ and producer and member of the Ustanova and Nimaš Izbire collectives. She is regarded as one of the more original DJs of the new generation of Slovenia’s electronic scene, blending current club trends with the legacy of three decades of Slovenian pop in her productions.

Music policy: bedroom pop / garage rock / jazz / progressive rock / electronic

After: techno / house / trap / breakbeat / Brazilian funk / dub / garage / DnB

Admission: €20, single admission ticket valid for all clubs

PALESTINSKA KARAVANA (Ps) @ Summer garden

Event: 12. 09. 2026 19:00 Add to calendar

PALESTINIAN CARAVAN (PS): Voices of Culture, Memory and Resistance

PALESTINIAN DABKE I

STORYTELLING BY WARDA

GAZA BAND (live performance)

SARA MAHFOUZ (live performance)

SHWIKI

SAHAREJA (DJ)

The Palestinian Caravan brings together Palestinian voices from different geographic areas that are often fragmented and disconnected: Jerusalem, Gaza, the West Bank, refugee camps and the global diaspora.

For the first time in this context, the Caravan brings together cultural workers, artists and educators who carry different lived experiences of Palestine, while sharing a common commitment to preserving its cultural memory.

This delegation represents more than just diversity within a culture; it represents continuity despite fragmentation. Each participant is a carrier of inherited knowledge, whether through food, music, dance, storytelling, education or cultural work. Their presence in Slovenia is not merely an act of cultural exchange, but also an act of preserving practices, voices and traditions that have survived in Palestine across generations despite displacement, political upheaval and the ongoing threat of cultural erasure.

In this sense, each member of the delegation can be understood as a guardian of cultural memory. Their work is not nostalgic, but active and alive: cooking that preserves collective history, embroidery that expresses identity, music, dance and storytelling that carry personal and collective truths, and research and activism that translate lived experiences into public knowledge and dialogue. Together, they bring a shared message rooted in resilience, dignity and cultural continuity.

The Palestinian Caravan invites Slovenian society to connect with Palestine not only through its political reality, but also through the richness of its everyday life and cultural production. It is an invitation to witness how culture survives, adapts and continues to speak across borders, through generations and in the face of enormous challenges.

Come for the music, dance, food and handicrafts!

Music policy: Dabke / Palestinian cultural heritage

Admission: €15 presale (all proceeds go towards supporting Palestinian artists and their families)

RAPETEK EKSTRA: LA COKA NOSTRA (USA) @ Gala hala

Event: 17. 09. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

RAPETEK EXTRA:

LA COKA NOSTRA (ZDA)

+ DJ White AF

Around the 20th anniversary of their more serious activity as a group, American rap supergroup La Coka Nostra are finally making their first-ever appearance in both Ljubljana and Slovenia.

The current line-up features Danny Boy, former member of the legendary House of Pain, alongside Ill Bill and DJ Eclipse (both of cult New York outfit Non Phixion), and Slaine.

The story goes back even further. In 2004, La Coka Nostra began as a loose collective gathered around Danny Boy. Following the breakup of House of Pain, he devoted his time to various projects and, while in Boston, met Slaine. Together with DJ Lethal, they recorded a number of tracks, gradually expanding the project as friends and collaborators from House of Pain, Psycho Realm, Special Teamz, and beyond drifted in and out of the studio.

By 2006, the group’s core line-up had finally taken shape. Their debut album, A Brand You Can Trust, was eventually released in 2009 after years of delays—partly because Danny Boy insisted the record be created together in the studio rather than pieced together over email. The wait proved worthwhile. The album became a landmark of underground hip hop, featuring heavyweight guests including Snoop Dogg, Bun B, B-Real, and Immortal Technique.

Over the following years, the group released two more acclaimed albums: Masters of the Dark Arts (2012), featuring the devastating DJ Premier-produced single “Mind Your Business,” and To Thine Own Self Be True (2016), another powerful record built around an outstanding roster of guest artists and producers.

La Coka Nostra were never conceived as a conventional rap supergroup assembled to headline festivals. Instead, they grew organically from decades-long friendships between the Boston and New York underground hip-hop scenes. Their music is built on beats as hard as concrete and uncompromising street storytelling delivered without censorship, fuelled by political paranoia, black humour, and raw intensity.

On stage, La Coka Nostra don’t trade on nostalgia—they deliver a live show of relentless energy and uncompromising force.

Music policy: Hip Hop

Admission: €25 early bird (Big Nose Shop and Gala Hala during events; limited quantity), €28 presale (mojekarte.si and official outlets), €33 on the day of the concert

PATETICO (SI) @ Summer garden

Event: 18. 09. 2026 20:00 Add to calendar

PATETICO (SI)

After a longer hiatus, Patetico —Slovenia’s beloved (or unapologetically divisive) masters of melancholy—return to the stage.

Riding the momentum of this year’s warmly received album, Armadilo, the band arrives at the Gala Hala Summer Garden to invite us into a musical world where poetry, jazz, chanson, and contemporary songwriting meet.

Come to think of it, Patetico is quite a bold name for a band. With more than twenty years of writing, recording, and performing behind them, they now sound freer, gentler, and more powerful than ever. Their strength lies in honesty, vulnerability, and the remarkable voice and interpretation of Nika Perunović.

As summer draws to a close, the Gala Hala Summer Garden will become a place for slow listening—for stories, poetry, music… and, inevitably, a little romance.

You’re warmly invited.

Line-up:

Nika Perunović — vocals
Arsenije Krstić — piano
Tadej Kampl — bass
Janez Gabrič — drums

Music policy: Jazz / Chanson / Everything Beautiful

Admission: €15 presale / €20 on the day of the concert

In case of bad weather, the concert will take place indoors.
